This is the most recent artwork for the Ohio State football senior banquet.
It is always a pleasure to do the artwork for this special event.
In 1994 I was asked to illustrate the Ohio State-Notre Dame Heisman Roast for a Toledo Central Catholic fundraising event. It was a limited edition of just 300 back and white prints. I was given a few extra prints that were not S/N and I colored one of those prints using acrylic wash after the event in '94. This is the result of that effort which has been stored away for all these years. I found it last week as I went through older artwork that had been stored in boxes, stashed in far away corners. It measures 18" x 24".
Since 1995 I have had the honor of illustrating the Ohio State Senior Banquet placemats and as I work on this years artwork I look forward to the big game tomorrow.
I hope to add "BIG TEN CHAMPIONS" to the title this year.
"Buckeye Football Seniors Banquet"
Since 1995 I have had the pleasure of illustrating the Ohio State Football senior banquet placemats.
This years banquet was on December 10 and even though I no longer attend the events it is truly an honor.
We are fans when they win and fans when they lose,
We are fans through triumph and uncertainty,
We are fans in the cold of winter and the heat of summer.
We are family, We are Buckeyes!
OSU Lima "Spring for Scholarships"
I thank Mike Buckland and the great people from Ohio State University for presenting this painting to Archie Griffin at last nights "Spring for Scholarships" event in Lima, Ohio. The painting is called "Where Dreams Begin" and it features a very young Archie dreaming about his future with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"The 2015 Senior Banquet"
This was the 21st year that I have illustrated the Ohio State Buckeyes football team senior banquet placemats.
It's a beautiful autumn day in the wooded land. The peaceful silence is momentarily broken as a hunter, who couldn't resist bringing his laptop with him to follow the game, celebrates an Ohio State touchdown. All the creatures of the woods let their curiosity get the best of them as they approach to see the spectacle.
Deciding whether to stay home and watch the game, or hit the woods to go after that monster buck was a hard decision for this "Buckeye Hunter".
In the background as the hunter cheers on his buckeyes the raccoon is clapping, the woodpecker has carved "GO BUCKS" in the tree, and an opposum and deer look on. I hope that he wasn't hunting for turkey, because that bird is running right in front of him. I guess that's what happens when one loves the Buckeyes.
